The new grouping, called ‘Patriots for Europe’ is the brainchild of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and is notable for including politicians and parties with a sympathetic attitude towards Russian President Vladimir Putin, including Orban himself and the National Rally (RN) party from France headed by Marine Le Pen.
