MEP from Latvia Nils Ušakovs has turned to the European Commission (EC) with a request to put Rail Baltica on hold and commence an in-depth audit of the whole project.
He told LETA that he believes the project should continue only once a comprehensive audit has been performed and the project’s terms and scale have been reviewed.
This, according to him, is the only way to save the project.
