Early leavers from education and training – today and ten years ago
In 2023, an average of 9.5 % of young people aged 18-24 in the EU were early leavers from education and training. Across EU countries, the proportion of early leavers in 2023 ranged from 2.0 % in Croatia to 16.6 % in Romania (see Figure 1). The countries with the lowest proportion of early leavers were Croatia, Greece, Poland and Ireland where the share was below 5 %.
